Express a Point of View - your character

How would you answer the questions on the Town Hall Walls? (What does it mean to be an American?, Does America have Justice?, When is it acceptable to send our troops to war?) What would the statues in Signer's Hall say if they suddenly came to life?

(please say what your characters description was)

I think that if the statues were to come to life something they might say is let there be justice. They might decide on important decision such as war depending on all facts with country and etc. On the other hand i think there will be some with still a little racism in them and will care about they people.

i think to be an american is everyone as one which means working together, no racism, segregation etc. I don't really think america has justice because all the bad things it involves slavery which was a big thing and racism. i think its acceptable to send our troops to war when it comes to something really important thats going on. i think the statues would say to stop all bad things.

I think that the statues in Signer's Hall would say a lot if thy come to life. One thing that they would say is how they over came the things and the confusions that was happening at that time. I would like to hear from about how they felt when they was making the Constitution.

The way I will answer the question on the wall is by saying American did achieve the plan they have in there mind because we stop slavery and now we have freedom of speech, religion and other thong so we did achieve the plan that was in the wall. It means to be American is that we fought for everything that we have today like freedom and are rights and now in this time we do not have slavery or other things we had in the pass. It was Acceptable to send troops to war because we did achieve what we fought what we have today so that very proud of that.

I would answer the question by saying thing are the way they are because they mean alot to me because they are very imporant for us to hear and understand. I f the statues were to come to life they would say what are a person like you doing here and I am also sure that they would be talking about the constitution and having debates.

What it means to be an american Is that we the people have rights. And also it means to be a citizen and voting and paying taxes.Of crouse America has justice because we all stick together and trying to be some brave people. IT would be good to send the troops if something really bad has happen and we need to protect us.

well Im a 62 year old african american male and if the statues in signer hall suddnely came to life I think most of them would be pleased to be here and see how things have change but also they would also be people who wouldnt be to pleased with what and how things changed. so from my view as the african male i would say society has done well over the past few decades.

Being American means equal rights for every one like any normal American. It does not mean different rights for me because I am immigrant. I believe America does have justice but in the eye of the of the person it seems unfair. Troops most of the time are probably drafted. I don't feel the need to send troops unless another country is attacking us not threating but attacking actual bombs & guns are being fired. I believe that the statues will mainly talk about the issues of creating the constitution and making sure that the people were satisfy with what their rights were fitted for them.

I would answer yes or no. It means to have rights and live by the constitution. Yes because its in the constitution. When we have war. They might not say we don't have rights.

To be an American, you must know the history and things like that.America has justice. It is acceptable to send troops to war when they invade our country. We should not invade other countries for no apparent reason, just like the troops in Iraq now. The statues in singer hall will say something about freedom and justice I think.

As a 20 year old female I would say that the united states establcished jsutice because racims has stop people has freedom now.The Quote mean to me Slavery , freedom ,wars.

if the statues were to come a live i believe that they would first ask why are you at war. I believe that because of the past wars that America had before i don't think that they would be pleased at all because the reason why we are at war and how the situation is now. I also believe that they would be upset because when of how America is now. People now don't pay as much attention to the older laws and they take a lot of things for granted.

I really did'nt get to finish this part in the exhibit but, one question on the wall was "should woman be able to vote"?
The way I would answer the question is just by looking at the rigth's of all citizens and the contributions that woman make around the world everyday. Why should they be excluded is the better question. I went into the Siqner's Hall but I did'nt really take look at the WHOLE exhibit.

*scratch that last comment*

- As my character, "why should woman be able to vote. They belong in an kitchen, picking out MY clothes and picking up around the house. The men hold the money, they make the decisions and they also compremise with their wives and as a whole come up with a decision in voting. Why should they have their OWN ballot, it is a waste of time, when their husbands can just make a decision together. You know what, after they make up their minds and get a chance to vote, then they rebell. They do not want to cook, or clean, or do their "jobs". If we want woman to stay in their place then the answr is 'NO".

Yes I would answer these 3 questions. To be an American means to be united with different people or calture. America has justice because things are fair here. It is acceptable to send our troops to war when our country is in danger.

If the staues suddenly came to life they would be talkin to each other and helping each other.
